Mental Health Support

North Cumbria Asylum Seeker Service (NCASS) is an NHS service for asylum seekers living in north Cumbria. They offer the following:

  • Mental health support
  • Specialised services to help with mental health
  • One-to-one support

Accessing NCASS support is free – there are no costs. No judgments are made and it will not affect your asylum application.

You may benefit from talking to NCASS if you are facing challenges that make you feel extremely sad, anxious, afraid, worried, angry or distressed. One in four people will experience mental health difficulties in their lifetime. There’s no need to feel shy about asking for support to feel better. Your mind should be taken care of, just like your body. Taking care of your mental health will help your well-being in the future.

Any specialist can refer you to NCASS, including WCRSN, Penrith and Eden Refugee Network, your GP or staff/ volunteers at any activities or support groups you attend.
